A sunny flower lying
on honeyed surf
and shore
Your golden soul

Giverny, Paris

‏‏‎ ‎

A sly wind conspired

for weeks

with an eager sun

‏‏‎ ‎

to melt the clouds

and gaze unhindered

‏‏‎ ‎

at the speckled splatter

of Monet’s heaven

below

‏‏‎ ‎

‏‎

I See You in Tuvalu

Sand-flecked strands

of inky hair

Sapphire skies

warming chocolate eyes

‏‏‎ ‎

A tender sea, cerulean

and rising

towards

rosy toes

‏‏‎ ‎

A sunny flower lying

on honeyed surf

and shore

Your golden soul

‏‏‎ ‎

far from ashen clouds

charcoal skies

iron and smoke

and snowy Cleveland

‏‏‎ ‎‎
