The child of Summer wears a crown
as bright the compass of the Sun;
whose joyful mood coruscates down
to lighten it on everyone.
The child of Monsoon calmly sits
to watch the landscape mirth in rain;
he inclines to scholarly wits
and mostly does to self-remain.
The Autumn’s child has many friends
who fit on him, heart’s peaked bouquet;
they merge their inns then take their bends
to spaces lost and far away.
The child of Frost, o’errules the world;
his say is first and most his cheer;
his woe be shot and smiles impearled
and obeisant must be each compeer.
The child of Spring is cherub-sweet
whose tendance makes each comer blest;
a Poet’s sprite; a heart most meet
where emotions from all do rest!
