by Megan Wildhood
I can hear it from the edge of the dark wood,
but I have to come to its brim to feel
the back and forth of the sea.
Sand brings the might of stay
and water brings the might of go.
They manage to make one with each other.
Can I find the place and peace
to hold such a truce
for the conflicting shores of my heart?
Under scorching sky, can I be the solidity
that waits for wave, knowing crash is coming
and still readies to receive?
