i think i talked myself into a self-fulfilling prophecy again
like some self-righteous modern day cassandra
(apollo and i kissed with tongue
and then he ghosted me
which was inconvenient but not unexpected)
the thing is, it’s easier to be miserable
than it is to be anything else
the thing is, you tell yourself bad things are coming
and then it has its hands around your throat
the only thing we love more than being miserable is being right
i think i backed myself into a corner again
walled in by the promise of sweet, sweet misery
shining like a golden apple
