Lovely, Isn’t It?

There’s a place I know,
not too far from home.
I first went there at sunset
and I had never felt

so

alone.

I think it’s a quarry
but, Google Maps says it’s a lake.
What’s the difference? I don’t know.
But, I know it can have no hate.

The sky glowed a deep purple hue
and reflected off the water below
turning the deep blue abyss
into a spectacular light show.

A little brown mouse came by,
I must’ve been sitting very still,
it sniffed my shoe and ran away.
Guess my feet smelled quite vile.

A beautiful display
upon the quarry’s brink.
It’d be a perfect spot for us,
don’tcha think?
