by Duane Anderson
I was the robin’s biggest fan today
as I watered the grass in our yard,
its reward, a big fat worm in its beak.
My reward, seeing the robin smile
with food in its mouth
along with a lush green lawn,
and there it goes again for seconds,
this time with a friend joining in
as they dig into a smorgasbord of worms.
