Sun-kissing

by Kayla O’Meara

‏‏‎ ‎

At 4 pm
we sat in the
hot tub
and watched
the sun
drop down
upon the
frozen lake

‏‏‎ ‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‎

sun-kissing
she said
and turned to me

‎‏‏‎

our lips touched
and
light filtered through
the ever-trees

‎‏‏‎

vixen tracks
shone circles
in the snow

‎‏‏‎

stones
re-earthed
and thawed & warmed

‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎

and all at once
We / This —
It came together

‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎

in a moment

‎‏‏‎ ‎

some kind
of eternal.

‎‏‏‎ ‎
